DVD rental automation requires much more than just a point-of-sale touch-screen application; the business logic and information management requirements are much greater. Kiosk User Interface – Flash UI including trailers, box art, product browsing, shopping cart, check-out, product returns, help screens and maintenance screens for loading and unloading. This UI also allows for promo-code entry, return anywhere, marketing slide shows and trailers during idle time, email capture, dynamic category buttons, rental and or sellthrough items, DVDs and Games and much more.

Kiosk Integration Middleware – Interfaces with the motion control API, contains most of the business logic for the UI. Logs all motion and transaction information.

Kiosk Motion Exerciser – Maintenance utility that allows for specific pick, place, unload and testing of peripherals. This is a great diagnostic and testing tool.

Kiosk Transaction Processor – This application runs on a specified time interval to settle product returns for pay-on-return fees and X-day charges. It also handles other scheduled collection events for non-returned product or insufficient funds retries.

Kiosk Physical Inventory – Allows various bin check and product inventory types by specified bin ranges. This is also a great tool for initial product loads, saving significant time in system preparation. This utility can be run at anytime to ensure inventory accuracy.

Kiosk System Agent – Initializes and monitors all essential software applications. Allows for stopping and restarting of specified applications. The system agent ensures that everything stays running the way it should.

Kiosk Data Exchange – This application makes sure that broadcast files are processed between to and from the Kiosk database and the central network operations center. It checks for missing box art (and trailers if used).

V3 Plus, V3 Plus API & V3 Plus Message Reader – Not only is this software (by Unique Business Systems) a full POS client software system for traditional retailers, it is also the complete backend database for each kiosk. This application can be used on occasion to view data in the local kiosk database. The V3 Plus API provides database access to the Kiosk Integration Middleware. The V3 Plus Message Reader pulls incoming broadcast files out of the message queue, allowing them to be processed by the Data Exchange application.

Kiosk Motion Boss – This optional application manages the local area network traffic and motion requests for a kiosk with multiple customer control centers.

Kiosk Credit Card Interface – This optional application offers an interface to your credit card processor. Contact us to find out which processor we currently interface to. Custom integration interfaces are available.
